The Pine Valley Cabin has always been an oasis for the family to escape to for recharging, relaxing, and recreating. This particular weekend, we came up to install a weather station and to escape the heat. Even though it was the end of September, it was still 100 in St. George. It was 66 degrees at sunset and we loved just sitting on the deck and watching all the deer feeding in the meadow. Adam and Holly came up with us with their little dog Honda. The cabin is a "real" log cabin with the rustic theme going on, but with all of the "important things" that really matter for congregating as a family and relaxing and having fun together.

The colors are even starting to change. This maple tree was really much brighter in the daylight. It changed color in just the last couple of days.

The cows in the neighboring field were just as curious of Honda as he was of them.

Making a new friend- size doesn't seem to matter at all.

Kent installing the weather station rain gauge, etc.

The wireless station records rainfall and wind gusts as well as temperature high and lows- without having to go outside.

I just took some random pictures around the cabin to capture the feeling and essence that we all love.

Dad burned all of our names into the fireplace mantle. The best touch is the heart in the middle that says "Doug + Carol" all done in Dad's handwriting and a wood burner- but it really says "we love being part of this family!"

The cabin has the country charm touches of mom, coupled with stuffed pheasants, turkeys, badger and bear skins, deer and moose heads, etc.

This is the kids room with bunkbeds and in the corner you can't see, a game table. Even though there is a trampoline out back, may aerobatic stunts have occurred in here. In fact, Trent once paid his allowance to replace the light he broke with his head while "not" jumping on the beds.

One of the best features are the decks that wrap around the whole cabin so that you can sit and watch the deer, kids playing on the swings or trampoline. There are two barbecues and a fire pit in the yard for bbqing and dutch ovening for dozens of people at a time. The deck has a variety of air chairs, benches, and patio furniture.

It also comes with a "casita" of sorts, in the cabin playhouse.

This is just an example of grandpa's sense of humor in the bear trap in the flower bed- with a quarter glued in the center.

Overall, it is an eclectic collection of old and new, "previously loved" items that perfectly match the group of people that enjoy it, for at Pine Valley, you can truly relax and be yourself. It is truly the family oasis.
