What ate my cat???

Lightning is our female cat- actually Nicole's cat. She and her brother, Thunder, were adopted from my parents. They were born under a bush, where only a few yards a way, the neighbors were jackhammering up a driveway and cement. Kent says they are "demented, and brain damaged". Thunder is a very sweet cat and wraps his little paws around you and cuddles. Lightning is more shy and tends to run and hide. She is a long haired white cat and her fur often gets tangled and needs extensive brushing. WHile Thunder and our other Siamese cat, Meeko, explore the neighborhood freely, she is more of a house cat never venturing farther than the patio furniture when she does go outside.

Because of her long fur, we didn't realize at first what was wrong with Lightning. She was really sick and could barely hold her head up. She was curled up in a fetal position. She had been bitten repeatedly by something and then they had got infected. She ended up having a surgery and when her whole back was shaved, we saw how hurt she was. It has already been a couple of weeks and she is still on antibiotics and we clean it each night and apply neosporin and she is finally healing. We still don't know what chewed on her, but.... it has changed her personality. She is more loving, appreciates the attention and help, and is much more cuddly.

Hopefully, Lightning doesn't get struck twice!!
